Easter Carmuirs Parent Council

As the Parent Council for Easter Carmuirs Primary School, we are here to be the voice for the Parent Forum  - and if you have a child at this school, that means you!

We have two groups that meet at various intervals:

Parent Council

This group meets with the Headteacher and other senior school staff once or twice a term to discuss curriculum matters, school improvement plans and other similar policies as well as supporting as required in any new developments.  The group will also be involved in any interviews for Senior staff posts and be able to apply for funding for items that the school require but can't get.  Finally, we'll look after the accounts and ensure that money is best spent within the school.

Events Team

This group has devolved powers to set up and run all the Parent Council events and fundraising activities whatever and whenever they may be.  They meet separately but report to the main Council as required. Download more info here.

Class Representatives

Each year group has one nominated person that will represent that group of parents at parent council meetings.  They will host group chats online where the idea is that the chats are used for parental views, not school communications that will continue through Class DoJo.
In the chat, parents can seek clarification and raise items that they might want discussed at Parent Council Meetings. It can also be used to give positive feedback.
It must be noted that the chat is an official communication channel of the Parent Council and isn’t for individual/personal issues. In those cases our advice would be to contact your child’s teacher directly.  No children, including your own, should be discussed or named in this chat.  The chat also cannot be used for gossip or personal attacks of any kind whether it be aimed at the school, the staff, the children or other parents.  If this was to occur the chat will be immediately shut down.
